Day 14: Equatorial Crossing

Other than the event heralded in the blog’s title, it’s been a pleasant few days devoid of any drama. We’ve been anxiously awaiting watching the GPS count down the degrees of latitude, and around noon Day 14, Arnstein assembled the crew in front of the chart plotter for this photo, in which he captured precisely the instant we crossed zero degrees latitude. This was, for Travis and me, our third equatorial transit, and Carl’s first, not counting by air.

While we have been, for safety reasons, a “dry” boat, we celebrated that day with a single round of Lagunitas IPA’s.
